We have designed this tour primarily to satisfy your wants and desires. The city centre is located 1.5 hours driving from the port, through the beautiful Tuscany countryside, scenic valleys and picturesque medieval villages. Prior to arrival, stop in the Piazzale Michelangelo, to admire one of the most superb views of the city, nestling in the Arno valley and surrounded by the Chianti hills to the south and the Fiesole hills to the north; these hills are green dotted with charming small towns.

The driver will then continue driving straight towards the centre of Florence and stop at an agreed location. From there, you can uncover the heart of the city by foot, for approximately 6 hours. Stroll around the characteristic streets, explore the famous historical sites, enjoy lunch in a traditional local restaurant and shop along the chic shopping boulevards consisting of stores specializing in fine leather and jewelry. We will pick you up at a designated point at an agreed time and drive back to the pier.

Depart the pier and arrive in Pisa after a 30 minute drive.The town of Pisa has been a Roman colony and in 89 B.C and was an important naval base and trading port for the Romans.We will visit its most celebrated attraction, the Leaning Tower (if you are climbing the tower please book tickets for either at 8:45 am or 9.00 am ) which has become, along with the Coliseum, gondolas and spaghetti, a symbol for the entire Italian Republic.
At the "Field of Miracles" we can see the Leaning Tower, the cathedral, the “Campo Santo” cemetery, the Baptistery, and the cathedral museum. The tower has been recently re-opened after a long restoration, and you are now permitted to scale to the top of the tower and admire the fantastic view. The climb to the top is an experience in itself, as you can feel the “lean” in the structure while you wind your way to the peak.
Then drive through the tuscan countryside for about 1 hour and start exploring the city of Florence, visiting the Piazzale Michelangelo first to see the spectacular view and beautiful Michelangelo statues over the course of the following hours your group will see Accademia’s Gallery with some of the most famous pieces of art in the world.You will also get to see both the Baptistery and the Duomo to first-hand witness the beauty and strength of ancient architecture. And to get a real feel for Italy’s history we will wander Piazza della Signoria and the church of Santa Croce to see the tombs of artists and philosophers alike.Please keep in mind that the museums are closed on Mondays therefore we will have extra time for shopping and will be able to stop by the famous leather market.
Head back to the pier at the end of the day.The itinerary may vary according to local traffic conditions

The tour has been designed for guests who have already seen the famous attractions and beauties of Florence and Pisa and are looking for a truly wonderful and exceptional excursion.
After approx. 1.5 hours driving through medieval towns and beautiful surrounding valleys, you will stop at S. Gimignano, an exchanting medieval village that has taken the name of Bishop Gimignano who saved the city from the barbarians.
The italian Manhattan as it has been called because of it's tall, majestic towers.
You will have time to explore and shop.
Reboard the car and drive to Siena, where enthusiastic claim that it is a place that should not be missed.
Founded by Augustus around the time of birth of Christ, the city became a wealthy and powerful rival of Florence during the late middle age.
Today Siena offers to visitors a fascinating passageway to the Renaissance.
You will have time to visit Piazza del Duomo, It is the site of the annual spectacular palio horse race, Piazza del Duomo, where the Cathedral and the most outstanding buildings stand.

Cradle of the Renaissance Era and situated on both banks of the Arno River it has always been the core of the Italian art. Home of the De Medici Family, Dante, Macchiavelli, Michelangelo and many other artists it is an open-air museum.

In Florence you can spend entire days sitting down to admire what the great artist that worked and lived here, created. Our drivers will drive you there in around 1 hour through the main highway that links the port to the city, always surrounded by the breathtaking Tuscany countryside. Once in Florence you may begin your daily tour from the highest square of the city, Piazzale Michelangelo, from where you will have a breathtaking view of the city in all its splendor. Then leaving this square, driving down hill, you will reach one of the most important and visited places of Florence, the Old Bridge, (Ponte Vecchio), where you can go for a stroll visiting also all the jewelry stores that flanke the Bridge. Then after a bit of shopping (in case you can afford gold), get ready for the Accademy Gallery, where one of Michelangelo’s masterpieces is collected, the David: the symbol of the city. Then maybe before lunch, let’s enjoy the main square of the city, where the Dome Santa Margherita in Fiore by Arnolfo di Cambio, 1296, stands very proudly. Next to it, you will admire also, the Baptistery and its famous door and the Bell Tower by Giotto. It’s lunch time! Have a special course at one of the thousands typical Florentine restaurants, maybe a fiorentina (special Florentine steack)! The second part of the day can be spent visiting other places such as San Lorenzo quarter with its outdoor market, where you can find also cheap leather; Piazza della Signoria. This was the old center of Florentine life. Eventually a quick driving past other monuments or buildings and back to ship.

San Gimignano’s cultural and natural patrimony have been recognized by UNESCO, but even more impressive is the medieval skyline made up of the 13 remaining towers and the views from above and below them. San Gimignano rises on a hill (334m high) dominating the Elsa Valley with its towers which date back to the 11 century. The town increased in wealth and developed greatly during the middle Ages thanks to the "Via Francigena" the trading and pilgrim's route that crossed it. Such prosperity led to the flourishing of works of art to adorn the churches and monasteries.
On 8 May 1300 Dante Alighieri came to San Gimignano as the Ambassador of the Guelph League in Tuscany. In 1348 San Gimignano's population was drastically reduced by the Black Death Plague throwing the city into a serious crisis which eventually led to its submission to Florence in 1353. In the following centuries San Gimignano overcame its decline and isolation when its beauty and cultural importance together with its agricultural heritage were rediscovered.
Once in San Gimignano, other than admiring the famous towers, you can also see the “Duomo” or Collegiate Church, the “Palazzo del Popolo”, the “Palazzo Nuovo del Podestà” (which is now the town hall), S. Agostino Church, the Museum of Holy Relics, and the infamous Museum of Torture, which displays early instruments of torture and reminds everyone that cruelty and violence existed even way back then.
On a lighter note, there are numerous shops which sell local products including the “Vernaccia” wine.
This tour takes you through the picturesque Tuscan countryside to the magical and mysterious cities of Volterra and San Gimignano. Departing from your accommodation you’ll reach one of the finest and lesser known hilltop towns tucked away in the heart of Tuscany, Volterra, and a beautiful city of Etruscan origin. The “magic and mysterious” city of Volterra has its roots in three thousand years of history. It is possible to find evidence and traces from every historical period which gives the artistic city a unique aspect. The ancient city walls, the imposing Porta all’Arco, the Necropolis of Marmini and the numerous archaeological finds conserved in the Museo Etrusco Guarnacci like the Ombra della Sera with its unique profile, the funeral urns and the finely crafted jewelry, bear testimony of the Etruscan period. The Theatre of Vallebona survives from the period of Augustus and suggests the importance of Volterra under Roman domination. Today the city conserves, above all, a medieval aspect not only for the 12th century city walls but also because of the urban layout with narrow streets, palaces, tower houses and churches. The Renaissance had an important influence on Volterra but without changing the city’s medieval character.
From this period are the superb palaces of Minucci Solaini, Incontri-Viti and Inghirami, which are built into the medieval city, the imposing Fortezza Medicea and the Convent of San Girolamo. Volterra is also a city of museums. Other than the Etruscan Museum there is the Civic Art Gallery with a fine collection of works from the Sienese and Florentine Schools, among which is the Deposition from the Cross by Rosso Fiorentino. The Museum of Sacred Art has an important collection of reliquary, 14th century Sienese sculpture and miniatures. You cannot talk about Volterra without mentioning Alabaster, an artistic handicraft that boasts a centuries-old history and a nobility of traditions that can be felt in every nook and corner of the town.

After a 30 minutes car drive from the Miracles square we will reach Lucca, a small authentic little city known for opera and its famous 16th-century redbrick bastions. Once soldiers patrolled on top of these walls but now the citizens ride their bicycles and walk their dogs, admiring the view. In Lucca you can visit the Saint Martino cathedral and its intricate arches, and the Torre Guinigi which is one of the last preserved towers in the city and is known for the majestic oaks that sit at its peak. If you want you can also rent a bike and take the “Wall bike” tour around the city (about 2.5 miles). Time permitting the tour can continue with a visit two of the most splendid Villas in the area surrounding the city. These villas were the summer residences of Lucca's most important noble families and distinguished foreign guests: Villa Torrigiani, is filled with rich apartments and wonderful grounds and the expansive splendid gardens of Villa Mansi, built by the well-known architect Juvarra.

Your driver will pick you up directly from your ship and take you on an evocative Tuscan journey through a gently rolling landscape of vine-clad hills topped with castles and abbeys towards Greve in Chianti, a charming market town in the "Chianti Classico region" and home to Sangiovese, the typical Tuscan grape since Etruscan time. Stroll around the main piazza and delve into the enticing Antica Macelleria Falorni, specialists in wild boar as well as pecorino cheeses before making your way to a renowed castle estate such as Vignamaggio or Castello di Verrazzano (depending on availability) for a tour of the gardens, wine cellar and a typical Tuscan lunch with wine-tasting. Spend your afternoon exploring the towered town of San Gimignano with its beautiful piazzas and winding cobbled streets - you may also be tempted to try Sergio Dondoli's gelato at Gelateria La Piazza which has been voted some of the best gelato in the world! Time allowing it may be possible to see Montefioralle, home town of Amerigo Vespucci and take in the breathtaking views of Badia a Passignano. Depart Chianti just before 1600 for arrival back at your ship in Livorno at around 1700/1730. Certainly a busy day, but what a day!

After a 45 minutes car drive from the pier you will reach Lucca.
Lucca is a tiny gem of a town encased within its famous walls. On the top of these walls, where the little city's soldiers once patrolled, now the citizens ride their bicycles and walk their dogs. In Lucca you can visit the S. Martino cathedral, S. Michele, Torre Guinigi, Piazza del Mercato and if you want you can also rent a bike and take the “Wall bike” tour around the city (about 2.5 miles). Lucca is also the birthplace of the opera composer Puccini and you can see his house that now is a small museum. Time permitting the tour can continue with a visit to one of the splendid Villas in the area immediately surrounding the city. These villas were the summer residences of Lucca's most important noble families and distinguished foreign guests: Villa Torrigiani, with its rich apartments and wonderful grounds, and the splendid gardens of Villa Mansi, built by the well-known architect F. From Livorno, you will head to Riomaggiore. Situated in a small valley, Riomaggiore is the southern-most town of the five Cinque Terre, all connected by a trail. Stop here for the outstanding view of the bay. The village, dating back to the early 13th century, is known for its historic character and its wine, which is produced in the town's vineyards. Visit the village, and walk part of the Via dell' Amore, or Path of Love, which connects Riomaggiore to Manarola, the second town in the Cinque Terre.

Now head to the ferry, which will take you along the coast to Vernazza, the 4th town in the Cinque Terre if you are heading North (Ferry tickets are not included). Vernazza has no cars and is one of the most authentic fishing villages on the Italian Riviera.
Here, you will have time to visit this unique village and for a lunch of local fresh fish.

Meanwhile, your van has driven the distance from Riomaggiore to Vernazza to pick you up and take you the two hours back to Livorno in quiet and comfort.
